| DEVELOPING HUMAN CAPITAL |
|
At the Fund, we help students succeed by increasing the leadership, instructional and technical capacity of the adults who are directly responsible for their academic success.
We believe in a data-driven focus on improving student achievement and building stronger schools and programs. Through our multi-faceted professional development services, we help improve the instructional capacity of teachers, principals and administrators to engage and inspire students to succeed. Through our district support efforts, we help build the operational expertise of system leaders to ensure timely and effective implementation of the City Schools’ initiatives.
Whether it is the person at the front of a classroom, at the head of a school, at a district level department, or serving in a community-based organization, each of these individuals impacts Baltimore’s ability to deliver educational excellence. There is no substitute for strong human capital, particularly in an urban district where students look to their schools for support and guidance for a range of academic and non-academic needs. For this reason, developing and supporting strong leaders who can engage and inspire students is one of the core tenets of Baltimore’s education efforts. The Fund works closely with the City Schools on a three-pronged approach including:
• Identifying and attracting new talent and future leaders in Baltimore and beyond.
• Supporting current staff in developing their peak performance, including our nationally
recognized Achievement First literacy reform model and leadership development efforts.
